Why Bother?
The new ADULT. album Why Bother? off of the label Thrill Jockey. It seems as if with each album ADULT. gets just a little bit harder and more intense. Which by all means is a good thing the with Adam on the bass guitar putting a punkish ingredient in to the mix that ADULT. is made up of. With the increase of the bass guitar and the slightly decreasing lead of the drum machine Nicola picks up the slack with her lyrics which she seems to have perfected. Why Bother? seems to be ADULT. with almost near perfection, the vocals are definitely more involved along with the bass that seems to take the lead of the tracks, but the drum machine still plays a big part in the album. With ADULT.’S junior release Gimmie Trouble the tunes didn’t catch my attention like the previous albums. It seemed to replace the electro with far more punk. Thats where Why Bother? comes in and takes ADULT. to a new level of creativity and uniqueness. Why Bother? is the perfect blend of older ADULT. and the newer stuff. Not too electro and not too punk but the perfect blend of some of the best things around. The balance of the vocals, bass, & drum machines is pure awesomeness. This album blew me away I was expecting a somewhat of a let down like Gimmie Trouble but instead what you get with Why Bother? is the best of Anxiety Always, Ressuscitation, & Gimmie Trouble. Simply the best if not second best ADULT. album yet, and if they continue on this path we can only expect better from them because we know and have been shown that they can deliver on all fronts. Heres my favorite track of the album:(Help support the artist and go purchase their hard work you freeloader

The Real D.A.N.C.E

As if the BBC rip wasn’t good enough we have the D.A.N.C.E/B.E.A.T EP coming out in March from the creative minds of Justice. These upcoming months are going to be holding some awesome tunes, I can just feel that something huge is about to drop besides everything thats already been announced including this little bundle of awesome. Heres the track courtesy Discobelle.net.
This isn’t the final version of the song according to Justice.
Selling Out?

One of the very rare times I watch television was today and I was swinging on through the channels and I hear SebastiAn – Ross Ross Ross playing as CSI: Miami’s opening song and just stopped in my tracks. I really couldn’t believe I was hearing good music on bad television. The show doesn’t do SebastiAn the justice he deserves one bit. Hopefully more good songs or artists don’t get put on that horrendous program. Anyway seeing that just made me have to put my displeasure into words. Heres the song anyway though. It isn’t brand new but it is still real good.

Rip off, maybe?

Zeigeist if you slipped one of their tracks into a mix with The Knife you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced one band that sounds the exactly the same as another. Sometimes the beats, guitar, or drums may sound close to the same, but they are never the same. Zeigeist must have heard The Knife went out of their way to get things right to be basically the best The Knife cover band ever & most likely the only. Never before have I heard vocals match like that. if it isn’t a cover it must be a guest star with The Knife’s vocalist Karin. Either way it’s still an enjoyable EP, and once they release a full length I’ll be sure to get it and keep the record spinning.
Quick Zodiac Review.
Weird cg and greenscreens made me uneasy, but there weren’t many and if you don’t know what it looks like then you would never know. Unfortunately I’m one of the few cursed with always being able to point out all the bad cg. The length of the movie isn’t anything to complain about two hours and forty minutes isn’t too bad considering 10 minutes is credits. It would have helped if they cut the movie down just 5 or 10 minutes. Either way if you can make it through that the movie is a blast and engaging. Its an easy 8/10 so its worth your hard earned cash.
